Photographer's Note

Agios Nikolaos (Saint Nikolas), for the orthodox christian religion, is the saint protector of the navy, especially the merchant marine.

This church was built at the start of 1950 decade and it's very close at the harbor and the Paralia of Chalkis. A really impressive building and a must see in my city. At the front has a very nice park with many benches to have a relax time and place for children's games. At the same park is the monument of Unknown Soldier.

Tech talk:

I don't know why the left belltower is tilted like this! I tried to correct the distortion but nothing changed! Anyway, I believe that this "effect" is due the angle I took the shot.

Hi Mpampis,
Excellent point of view of this church and good idea to put the branches of tree in the image.
A little dark in the bottom of the picture but it is a nice composition.

Πολύ καλή η αντίθεση μεταξύ ουρανού και εκκλησίας,τελικά ο φωτισμός δεν βγήκε άσχημος σε μια αρκετά δύσκολη συνθήκη.

I'm always very charmed by the churches of Greece and this one is due to its size and detailling of the facade, rather special. I like the light play ad the natural framing by thr trees a lot too.
The distortion is indeed due to the angle - it's perspective distortion.

Μπάμπη καλησπέρα
Ωραία η φωτογράφιση της εκκλησίας με φόντο τον μπλέ ουρανό.Καλή εκφώτιση με καλά χρώματα.
Έκανα μία μικρή διόρθωση στην προοπτική με το Photoshop.Δεν ξέρω εάν σου αρέσει.

Μαγευτική φωτογραφία.Πανέξυπνη χρήση των δέντρων για φυσικό πλαίσιο και πολύ καλός χειρισμός του φωτός στην εκκλησία.

Καλημερα Μπάμπη,
Εαν και οι φωτιστικες συνθηκες φανταζομαι οτι θα ηταν δυσκολες,εκανες πολυ καλη δουλεια.Πολυ καλως περιελαβες τα δενδρα στην συνθεση,την κανουν πιο πλουσια!Πολυ πετυχημενο και το σημειο ληψης.

Γεια σου και παλι φιλε Μπαμπη,
Αντικρυζοντας καποιος την φωτογραφια αυτη ισως να μην αφιερωνε πολυ χρονο παρατηρωντας την θεωρωτας την συνηθισμενη.
Αυτο που κανει αισθηση παντως ειναι οτι κοιταζοντας την πιο προσεκτικα καταλαβαινει την δυσκολη συνθηκη φωτισμου που την κανει εξαιρετικη.Το φως του ηλιου καθως πεφτει πανω στο δεντρο...Το μπλε του ουρανου πανω απ την εκκλησια αποπνεει εναν δυναμισμο.Ειναι μια "ζωντανη"σκηνη....

This is anoder beautiful church from your country, which is my favourite too. I like the branches framing from above... Late afternoon sunshine, the clear lines and the colours are a proof of your photografic skill.
