Photographer's Note
This is a heavily cropped shot of the little boat I showed before. For the original uncropped image see the ws. I would be interested in any comments pos. or neg.

Hi Phil,
To be honest where 'Boat' really succeeds is where this one only comes close for me. To my eye the theme of isolating the boat is diluted by the busy reflections and the small area of foreground masonry. I think in future situations like this it might be better to simplify as much as possible and position yourself on the side of the object not in shadow. Look for the 'caustic networks' shining the reflections back onto the boat. Either that or zoom back out and place the boat in the larger context as you started with.
Cheers!

Hey Phil,
Nice cropping, its good, cause the quality does not suffer, I see you changed your medium to digital. Good choice. Anyway, wonderful reflections and a nice motive.
Enjoy.

Hi Phil, the frizzy reflected lines give the effect like they caress the little Konstantina!-:)
The end result is very nice.
Have a nice night.

Hello Phil
The quality of this image has survived such heavy cropping very well. As you know, I have a liking for these reflections shots and the very fine lines of the vertical reflections in this one balance the long thin boat very well.
I also find the orange/red and grey colours pleasing. The stones of the quay do not add much to this composition, but foreground was needed in the larger version. The WS version is such a different animal - landscape v boat 'portrait'- that I really cannot make a constructive comparison. However, two for the price of one appeals to a Yorkshire woman!!
Best wishes....Maggie
PS Off to Whitby for a few days tomorrow - wind and snow forecast so could be interesting!

Hi Phil
Your Konstantina is just perfect, but I prefer the large view with this dreamlike foggy look of paralia.
have a great week

Hello Phil,
This is an excellent picture. The little boat sits nicely among the reflections - the blue of the water at the right, and the small patches of yellow at the left, contrast well with the mainly black and white areas. A fine image.
I think the FG stones play a useful part in the composition
Unless I have misunderstood your note, the WS image, though obviously taken on the same occasion, shows some slight differences, and is not the one this crop was made from.
Regards,
Peter.
