Paralio Astros

Paralio Astros, in the E of Peloponnese, in the Argoliko Gulf, was a small fish village up to the half of the century, today it is a beautiful seasonal centre, fortunately without big tourist installations, that it has accomplished it maintains his character.

Παράλιο 'Αστρος

Το Παράλιο 'Αστρος βρίσκεται στην Κυνουρία, στις δυτικές ακρογιαλιές του Αργολικού κόλπου, στην αντίπερα όχθη από τη πόλη του Ναυπλίου από την οποία απέχει οδικώς είκοσι λεπτά. Είναι ένα όμορφο παραδοσιακό χωριό κτισμένο το περισσότερο επάνω σε ένα νησιώτικο λόφο που ονομάζεται «νησί» στη κορυφή του οποίου υπάρχει ένα βενετσιάνικο κάστρο . Πίσω από το Κάστρο, στη βόρεια πλευρά, υπάρχει ένας σπάνιος βιότοπος. Οι αμμουδερές παραλίες του απλώνονται προς βορρά και νότο σε απόσταση πολλών χιλιομέτρων. Η θάλασσα είναι ζεστή και το νερό της πεντακάθαρο.

Hello Danos,
this picture is focusing on a feeling, a mood, a moment rather than on a given geographical place. Calm and quiet as it should be at the end of the day, only the lonely fisherman is still on sea collecting his net - accompanied by his little helper, the seagull. Also the colours tend to be dark, signing the approaching evening.

Paralio Astros is one of my favourite places - small, friendly and ,despite the new apartment blocks, still unspoiled in its atmosphere. Your photo makes me remember walks along the long beach, beside the inland lake ( full of interesting birds )and captures the peace and quiet very well.
I like the cropping and the position of the seagull is perfect!

I am never sure what will strike my fancy when I browse the galleries and this one jumped out at me. The light is wonderfully warm and the bf and water textures are painting like without having to me modified, this is a really great capture I think.

Δάνο, συγκινήθηκα όταν είδα αυτήν τήν φωτογραφια σου! Ο ψαράς είναι ο μπαρμπα Βαγγέλης και αν μπορούσες να κοιτάξεις μέσα στην βάρκα του θα έβλεπες τα ομορφότερα κοχύλια!Τα βρίσκει στα δίχτυα του ανάμεσα στα ψάρια και τα χαρίζει σε όσους αγαπάνε τήν θάλασσα!
Πανέμορφη εικόνα πού τήν έχω αγναντέψει άπειρες φορές στο χωριό πού αγαπώ πολύ!
