Photographer's Note

at the beginning of every new year we are wishing the best wishes for ourselves, our people we love and the world.

However the world is going crazy and worse each year passes, at least in this country it does. I'm not an optimistic person, after the latest facts and riots in Greece, the scandals, the fires that took place on 2007 and a lot more I don't even want to remember, made me to lost my hope.

As a teacher I heard the kids opinion about their future in this country and guess what, they are right. Somehow the kids are always right and full of justice. The fact that nobody hears them made me curious and actually it made me mad.

I support justice I can tell the difference between right and wrong like the kids do. Unfortunately most of the people don't, they care about only one thing: THEMSELVES, how to fill their pocket with money, glory and power, so I came up to a point and ask myself: Does all these worth instead of the future of our kids? Isn't our kids the most valuable thing in the world? aren't we supposed to protect them and provide them a better future?

Every time we see a young kid killed by "accident" or whatever we feel sorry and wish it never happened.
What do you think its happening when a young kid believes that has no future? does only blood wakes us? do you really believe its not the same? you're right, its worse!

My dear friends the only thing I'd like to wish for this year is not health, not luck, no power and money, joy or whatever you are used to hear.

The only thing I wish for, is to find the child in us to find how pure can we be, and use our MINDS for our kids future first, and then ourselves. We owe to them, so make them happy!

For once, you note is more impressive than the photo. What you write is sad but true. It happens all over the world. It is the system of government and the way life has always been since a long time ago. The imperial kingdom days? The feudal days?

Even though I have both respect and dis-respect for him as a former leader, but an open letter he writes to Obama here is a good piece to read and hope for.

I wish my comment here would make some sort of contribution for a better world.
I wish your words that are so true to the core would make any difference.
I wish I would have the will to participate in making this sorry excuse for living better.
But I can't.
You see....I lost hope too. I long time ago.

welcome back in TE after a long absence!
Thank you for the splendid night panorama of your city, sparkling with lights and fireworks, and thank you for your note in which you express your/our concern. I think that every decent and aware person should be concerned about the future of our kids. In your country, like in mine and most of other countries in the world, a rennovation is needed, a rennovation which can come only from true human values, first of all love.
It's the thing we need most and we should ask ourselves why love is not in our hearts.

OK I know it's from a cheesy song, but it doesn't stop the words being true. I was a teacher too and the best lesson I learned was to give the children respect and foster their self confidence. I don't think my thoughts are too far away from the hopes in your note.

Επαινώ σε για την στάση ζωής και ανθρωπιάς που βγάζεις ως ανάγκη για ευαισθητοποίηση και διάθεσης για την αναστροφή μιας κατάστασης που διονίζεται χρόνια τώρα
