Photographer's Note

Hello TE friends,
This photo is dedicated to all the people who asked me to post again since my late last post and the ones who concerned about me lately. Thank you for your support and concern from the bottom of my heart.

Many material like this and refresh touristic descriptions are being prepared for my portfolio, which I'll release really soon.

A little story about the photo:
===============================
Photo taken at Kalamata main harbor, which leads all the way to the big pier of the city. I' gotta admit, that kind of photography is forbidden, since many times I was caught and forbid me to take pictures from harbors or train stations. Besides I'm not a spy and Google earth PRO offers better quality to terrorists than my TE posts. So be my guest and hang me please :)

Technical notes:
================
f/4.5 1/30 and noiseless ISO 200, were my safe settings to capture this scene, Besides I knew I could use RAW to extract the missing detail/sharpness and the 101% of the quality I desire.

Post Processing notes:
======================
Alright, I condemned the blue hour here, In my workshop you'll see how is this place look like.
I wanted an artistic touch and create another kind of mood than the usual blue hour description.
So I mixed cyan blue in shadows with light yellow in highlights split toning in ACR, where my saturation was zero along with some manual colour adjustments in the HSL/Grayscale tab.
A couple of filters such as noise reduction and custom layer sharpness plus a new frame with a new custom style font were made.

I don't know if you like it or not, Be honest in your critiques and comments.

look who is back?!?... great to see you around stelio:D... i wasnt expecting something like that though, as you told me about your latest trips... kalamata seems to be a deppressive place looking at this shot... the WS looks more fun thanks to the colourful lights coming from the shop on the background... a man in black walking with a frowned face would have added a lot (more depression) to this compo file mou>:P... be good...

hello Stelio,
I guess I'm used to the beautiful colours in your photos, so it took me a while to "warm" to this particular shot. but the more I look at it, the more I like it, the dark mood fits well the title, and the strong perspective creates a feeling of a "road to nowhere". the lights of the car on the left definitely add to the spooky mood. the quality is impeccable, as always.

Απο οτι βλέπω αξιζε η αναμονη μεχρι να δουμε καινουρια δουλεια σου...Μου θυμιζει εντονα σκηνικο απο ταινια,με τα κομματια το σκηνικου τελεια τοποθετημενα στο καδρο σου.Ο φωτισμος ομως κανει την διαφορα και την ατμοσφαιρα βεβαιως...
Μ'αρεσει πολυ η φωτογραφια σου φιλε!

Impressive (and oppressive) image. A good choice to have it in monochromatic and with the ugly building in the shade. It reminds more of Liverpool docks than Greece.
But, what about the famous olives? You need an industrial or commercial harbour to ship them (I've found them even in Sweden!).

Πολύ μελαγχολική μου δείχνει η φωτογραφία σου. Θα την προτειμουσα με λιγότερη παραμόρφωση αν ήταν δυνατόν. Πιθανώς με τοποθέτηση της μηχανής κατακόρυφα και crop του κάτω μέρους. Φυσικά υπάρχουν και software λύσεις στο πρόβλημα αλλά είμαι σίγουρος ότι το ξέρεις. Όπως πάντα προτειμώ την έγχρωμη version.

Γεια σου Στέλιο, πολύ ατμοσφαιρική η φωτο σου με εξαιρετικό κάδρο και απίθανη επεξεργασία. Παρ΄όλο που η φωτό στο ws είναι επίσης πολύ καλή η επεξεργασία σε αυτή την κάνει ιδιαίτερα ξεχωριστή. Σαν να περικλίεται στην εικονα η υπογραφή του δημιουργού παρέα με τα συναισθήματα που προκαλεί στον θεατή. Εξαιρετική δουλειά, περιμένουμε την συνέχεια. Χαιρετώ,

Σίγουρα μια καλλιτεχνική, ισως κινηματογραφική φωτογραφία. Η παραμόρφωση καμία φορά είναι και επιλογή. Το βλέπω και σε δικές μου αλλά καμιά φορά μου αρέσει. Τέλος πάντων, η φωτογραφία είναι εξαιρετική και μπράβο σου. Έχεις μια ματιά που κάνει τις φωτογραφίες σου μοναδικές.

to say the truth, taste of the composition. But I have difficulty in commenting this photo.Colour adjustments in the Grayscale tab is good,it makes an artistic work,I prefer the photo in ws original view :)sorry

Στελιο καλησπέρα,απίστευτης κατάθλιψης σκηνικό μας παρουσιάζεις!Η γκρί-σκουριασμένη εικόνα του λιμανιού δίνει πραγματικά μια εικόνα μοναξιας αλλά για μένα και απομόνωσης αφού πίσω απ τα κάγκελα και έξω απ το λιμάνι παρατηρώ αυτοκίνητα να περνάνε.Υπέροχη και η έγχρωμη εκδοχή,ίσως πιο εντυπωσιακή αλλά αυτή εδώ κερδίζει για την ατμόσφαιρα που μεταφέρει.Τώρα που παρατηρώ καλύτερα λίγο πιο αριστερά και η λαμπούλα πάνω αριστερά θα ταν όλη στο πλάνο!!

Fantastic wide lens effect here, I really enjoy it. Your editing really added the desired effect - heavy, almost choking. At first the tones were a bit too strong for me, but to be honest, the more i look at them, the more i like them...

Another hi..
When I watched the shot,due the little distortion from vertical lines because of the angle,it remind me some movie from the alleged effects of an enormous magnetic camp between our eyes and a ship,and the also alleged invisibility thanks the deviation from the rays of light..Watchin your shot I can hear the sound of the ship suffering that deformation..and I like it.I like this version and in spyte of the original version is a little dark I find it very interesting too,all above,this touch of colurs submerged in blue-dark hour.So I must congratulate you,also for the sharpness and the depth too..
