Photographer's Note
Emboureios is one of the most beautiful "inland" villages of Santorini, especially its old part, is a beautiful small labyrinth, that looks like an open air, sculpture exhibition. Here you can see the top of the small hill, that used to be a "Kastelli", one of the 5 small castles constructed in Santorini by the Venetians (the other ones are in Oia, Skaros-Imerovigli, Pyrgos and Akrotiri).

Hi Hercules,
the wide angle distortions emphasize well the greatness of the place. And the polarized sky is stunning. Works for me no doubt!
Best,

Hello Hercules!
I was Santorini, but I have not seen this building. It is true only twice a day, but even then. It is likely eliminated from the tourist routes. Too bad. Very interesting building, the image is well defined. interesting use of different materials and colors. Pretty up the narrowing perspective. The sky is blue, and a Mediterranean :-)
Sincerely,
Csaba

Hello Hercules
An impressive architecture, enhanced by the low-angle shot and the wide angle.
The warm colours of the covering against this deep blue sky are vere attractive.
As usual, a great quality to sublimate the textures.
Compliments.

Hi Hercules, Your images have always portrayed an excellent sharpness and claity- you have a natural ability to see images differently and consequently I like the POV of this image. Great tomes and interest. ( Just a pity about the cable in the FG- which I guess you could do nothing about) well done and well presented. Rich

Bonjour Hercules
Amicalement

Hi Hercules!
Interesting note!
Pretty attractive picture that really invites us to get more of the greek islands than sun and sea!
Sharpness, exposure, pov, colors, pp, contrasts, horizontal format and composition are all very good here!
TFS - congrats,

Hello Hercules,
The towering castle buildings well presented with their similar but different colour tones, no doubt due to different stages of weathering. great clarity, a discovery.

hi Hercules
the keystoning effect of the buildings seem to draw the eye inwards in a positive way - sometimes correcting the keystoning is important, but not here.
wonderful bright light really helps too!
great shot taken from below

Geia sou dear Hercules, fantastic colour-rendering and light control. I like the effect of the wide-angle here on this most fascinating set of castles. What an amazing place...even more amazing to know that the Venetians were here (probably as part of the trade route?) and left their mark. TFS and I wish you a beautiful Friday, Lisa

Hello Hercules,
Too bad I missed this village when I was on Santorini but a good idea for a next visit.
The view upwards makes this Kastelli certainly look very impressive.
I have the impression that the top of the hill must be very small and completely occupied by these 'fortified' and well defensible towers.
Beautiful strong contrast between the orange and brown of the walls and the blue sky.
Best regards, Paul
