Photographer's Note
The sad story of a village....
In 16th century, residents of the southern Almyros and ancient Alos, because of plague, came and installed themselves in the village Platanos. In 1821 and 1878 village was burned by Ottomen. In 1833 was destroyed by the bandit Valatsos and his gang. Finally in the 15-8-1943 (WWII period) village was destroyed again by the Italians. In 1960 began the abandonment of the village from his residents, which were installed in the New Platanos village, few kilometers away.

Hi Ioannis.
Excelent picture. The different "blues" of the sky are great and the contrast with the other areas of the shot is lovely.
Nice definition too!

Bonsoir mon ami John,
En effet, ce village a connu des moments très pénibles. J'aime la façon dont vous avez organisé votre composition avec cet arbre décharné et ces ruines en arrière-plan, cela donne une cohésion à la note et à la publication.
Très belle composition.
Amitiés.

Hi John. Wow two shots in a row from you that have a surreal feel. I like whatever you've been doing. Everything is perfectly placed and has a purpose. Excellent pic John.

Hi Ioannis.
Sad story and nice photo. More than a nice photo, the photo by itself represents the meaning of the note.
Well done.

Hi John,
This is a very good and appealing composition, even though I like the colour effect on the sky a little less this time -- perhaps because of too dark foreground. Anyway, a beautiful shot. Well done.
Thanks,
Marek

Hi John
A good try with the script, i still think the colors are a little bit saturated bur the effect and little blur is excellent

Γειά σου Γιάννη
Εξαιρετική κι αυτή με όμορφο εφφέ. Ωστόσο πιστεύω ότι μάλλον άφησες λίγο παραπάνω το κάτω σκοτεινό μέρος, το οποίο προφανώς έγινε σκοτεινότερο λόγω του εφφέ;

Hej John,
Very nice capture of this village with such a sad history. You captured the ruins from a good POV and I like the composition too. Good work indeed!

Hi John,
The sadness of the story of this picture is very well illustrated in this moody picture. I hope we can get once a more happy image of the new village.

Hi John,
An eerie, well composed shot where the silhouetted tree perfectly balances the ancient structure. I like the dark foreground contrasted with the lovely blue sky. The shot does justice to your note and the general feel of abandonment. Very well captured. I like the ambience, even though it is historically depressing.

Hi Aleksander,
Sorry for not being in action for a few days.
The tree and the ruin speaks loud and clear the events that happened in this place and you have cleverly used all the availble resourses to project this atmosphere here. The visual effect is most effective and I always enjoyed the delicate and fine details of the branches of the dead tree and the little shrubs which you have put your focus on. Congratulations. All the best.

What a great shot on this old ruin. From dark silhoutte to the great blue polarized sky. A great note also.

Hi Ioannis,
nice picture, I like the colors in the sky, maybe the softness is a bit overdone, but it is still a good image.
