Volos view from the sea

Volos (Greek: Βόλος) is a coastal port city in Thessaly situated midway on the Greek mainland, about 326 km north of Athens and 215 km south of Thessaloniki. It is the capital of the Magnesia regional unit. Volos is the only outlet to the sea from Thessaly, the country's largest agricultural region. With a population of 144,449 (2011), it is an important industrial centre, while its port provides a bridge between Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

Volos is the newest of the Greek port cities, with a large proportion of modern buildings erected following the catastrophic earthquakes of 1955. It includes the municipal units of Volos, Nea Ionia and Iolkos, as well as smaller suburban communities. The economy of the city is based on manufacturing, trade, services and tourism. Home to the University of Thessaly, the city also offers facilities for conferences, exhibitions and major sporting, cultural and scientific events. Volos participated in the 2004 Olympic Games, and the city has since played host to other athletic events, such as the European Athletic Championships

questa di oggi mi piace. Buona nitidezza, colori netti e decisi, buona composizione, ma soprattutto bel soggetto contornato da un cielo tempestoso che crea ujn ottimo riflesso nell'acqua.

A theme you masterfully keep posting, but yet another fabulous one: Light was directly over town houses, while the sky are mostly cloudy and grey. Nice contrast between sea and sky, reflection and fine marine view.

Despite the partaially cloudy sky , it seems to be a beautiful day in the port of Volos . Splendid contrast between the white buildings and the dark moutains in the BG . Superb reflections in the FG .

Good perspective and the benefit of dash of warmlight catching on the buidlings and water. It's the random splashes of brightly lit singing out against the dark sky make this shot really standout. I think you grabbed the moment so precisely there. Great atmospheric shot. TFS

Καλησπέρα Κωνσταντίνε,
μια υπέροχη εντύπωση του λιμανιού του Βόλου από τη θάλασσα. Το φως είναι πολύ δυνατό αλλά γλυκό και ευχάριστο και κάνει την προκυμαία να λάμπει. Η λάμψη απλώνεται και πάνω στη θάλασσα με τις αντανακλάσεις. Ο ουρανός και το σκοτεινό βονό στο βάθος δημιουργούν μια συναρπαστική αντίθεση. Μου αρέσει επίσης το χρώμα και η υφή της θάλασσας και η εξαιρετική ατμόσφαιρα. Συγχαρητήρια και ευχαριστώ!

You're capturing well this scape by a good angle and excellent tone/clarity, so it's impressive to see the calm bay with two color layers and port town with the harbor where the ships are at anchor and the buildings which stand in a row along the harbor. And, it's impressive in mountain of backdrop, too.

The surrounding looks a little bit like Montreux.
Light management and composition are good. The
cut up and/or below makes the picture nice wide.
The dark sky/clouds fits is a nice extra, it fits
very well.
