Photographer's Note
Milos, is among many other things, an open-air geological museum, probably the most important in Greece.
Here you can see a gallery in the abandoned iron mines of Vani cape, at the northernmost edge of the western "branch" of the island. It's quite dificult to reach, you 'll have to take several dirtroads (4X4 vehicle suggested), you 'll also need a good map to find it. But once you get there, you 'll see one of the most unusual and spectacular greek landscapes, a location that would be ideal for shooting "western" films, with strange rock formations and blinding red colours.

Even a man maid quarry creats a wondeful earth formation, Hercules.
Good pov and dof here, lower saturation level would be more preffered.

Ike

Hello Hercules,
You are absolutely right about the location, both as an open-air museum and as a filming site for westerns. That was exactly our impression when we were there, in fact, we were wondering whether the Greek equivalent of a "spaghetti western" could be "mousaka western" ;-) I especially love the derelict office building in the valley...
As for the photo, you handled the light perfectly, every detail of the colourful rock is visible. Nice composition, showing us all the natural arches.
TFS and have a nice day,
Dasha

Hello hercules
What an incredible symphony of red hues you get (I know, it rust), well contratsing with the sky. Many details in the different layers. Only the scale is missing.
Cheers

Bonjour Hercules
Les résidus de fer donne cette belle couleur rouille magnifique qui semble imprégner toutes les particules de ta composition. Le petit sentier guide le regard vers le fond et le beau ciel.
Amicalement

Hello hercules,
The deformed rocks and half tunnels well presented with a good play of light despite the heavy shadows. And also interestign to see how men can dig like ants to find what he needs. Or thinks he needs ?

Paul

Hi Hercules, The colours are similar like in Utah, well usually such red colour indicates iron in the soil. Nice photo, romantic look in the abandoned place.
Warm regards

Hello Hercules,
Yes indeed an eyeful reminiscent of our West - the channel topped with colorful arches, leading into the distance.
Good job,
