Birds, a photo from Dodekanisos, South Aegean

Photographer's Note

The Theatrical Group of Leros was founded in 1989. Its very productive Main Scene was shortly followed by a Children’s Scene whose successful activities were interrupted for several years.
Since 2007, the Children’s Scene started working, creating and blooming, attracting the attention and love of children, parents, friends, the whole of the community.
From September to June, every Sunday, they have drama lessons and workshops at the Group’s small theatre in Ayia Marina and they prepare at least two performances every year.
The larger production of this year is the play “A magical City in the Clouds” based on the famous comedy “Birds” by Aristophanes. It will be performed on June 7&8, at the school yard of the Primary School of Ayia Marina. The directors, and also animators and managers for the Children’s Scene, are Lefteris Diamandaras and Irini Dinaki.
In “Birds” (from Wikipedia) Pisthetaerus, a middle-aged Athenian, persuades the world's birds to create a new city in the sky, thereby gaining control over all communications between men and gods. He is miraculously transformed into a bird-like figure and, with the help of his friends, the birds, and with advice from Prometheus, he soon replaces Zeus as the pre-eminent power in the cosmos.
Pisthetaerus arrives with a friend to the land of Birds. (From Wikipedia)[He], the cleverest of the two Athenians, the author of the brilliant idea, then delivers a formal speech, advising the birds that they were the original gods and urging them to regain their lost powers and privileges from the johnny-come-lately Olympians. The birds are completely won over and urge the Athenians to lead them in their war against the usurping gods.

Only after reading the note and saw the WS, i realized what you meant to show, Ourania.
My advise to you, try to post a more illuminated pictures in future - not many on TE would read the note and/or look at ES.
The story, first time heared about, is most interesting.

Une seule critique était réaliste, les autres ne sont d'aucun secours à ceux qui veulent apprendre.
L'image manque de lumière.
Même en essayant de faire quelque chose, je ne peux pas rattraper. En corrigeant il y a du bruit (Noise) visible sur le tee shirt de l'enfant
Il aurait fallu surexposer par rapport aux valeurs affichées
Je pense que tu aurais dû publier celle en WS

You upgraded the ISO to get this picture, and we can see it in the pixelised T shirt. The framing is correct, the hues are dull because you under exposed the picture.
Didi has done a correct work to improve your shot.

I am late, I know but in the mean time I think you know the problem of your image: not enough light. But I think some adjustments can be done in post-processing. I made a small workshop to reduce the noise. I hope you'll appreciate the difference.

My eye was immediately taken by this image in your gallery. The reason is that it is so unlike a photograph and gives the illusion of being an oil painting. I like that. I like the blurring of the boundaries between art and photography in whatever form that may take. The colour palette here put my in mind of a Vermeer, or Rembrandt style painting. Irrespective of the low light and grain produced by that in conjunction with the ISO chosen - I think this is fantastic and is something I would happily hang on my wall.
