Rodia Wetlands

In this landscape of rare beauty, the largest population of wintering waterfowl in Greece (about 100,000), parked and played around 250 species of birds, found the third largest pelican colony in Europe and is considered the best tortoise place in Greece.
The scenery enchants the visitor: the reeds, water lilies, interspersed with salt marshes, open water surfaces and small closed brackish lakes. Crossing the reed islets with thrifts, the visitor knows from near the winged inhabitants, where every season is different. The wetland is also known for its great fish production capacity.
