Photographer's Note
Although not as attractive as the Venetian ports of Rethymno or Chania, the ancient port of Iraklio is still worth seeing. The fortress on the background is a Venetian construction of the 16th century, known as Rocca al Mare or Koules Fortress.

Ola Jose,
A very werll lit picture overr the Iraklion marina and the fort.
When we were there in 5/2005, we hiked on the fort and had a magnificent view on the town from its top. Unfortunately, this was before the digital era and my photos from that trip had a dissapointing result.
A fine cheerful view of the boats, big vessel on far side, and people walk onnthe jetty.
Boa tardes,
Ike

Hello José,
This is a nostalgic view for me. I remember well standing at the same spot. But then, there is so much history here, spanning thousands of years, and a myriad individuals who have gazed at the sea from these shores.
Warm regards,
Bulent

Hello José,
Everything is very quiet the boats wait on the next trip to the sea.
The marina gives a wonderful image with a lot nice boats.
An excellent atmosphere with pleasant colour.
Sharpness and clarity are perfect.
Very well done, TFS.
Best regards,
John.

Hi Jose
A bit of a boatie, I find this rather interesting when the sunshine does add so much to this fine panoramic view of the old harbour front. Looks really idyllic there for photo shooting and I feel this conveys the whole depth in one smooth sweep. I like the white tones echoed by the boats and the contrasting deep blue & composition too is not too cluttered. Brilliant image, what a historic place and love the letterbox crop. Congrats
Best regards
