Photographer's Note

I am dreaming about summer vacations already and so I came across this photo in my gallery which shows quite a spectacular view and yet I was never able to make it eye-catching. I decided to re-post it with enhanced contrast plus subtle overall brightness and tiny bit of saturation added.

This may be the most iconic view from Kos Island that is why I have selected it to be my postcard from Kos. You have seen recently a photo from same POV presented on TrekEarth by Danos (click here). My photo differs by being a zoomed in version. Sadly we both did not have the best light.

In this photo you see a small islet of Kastri with a small church of St Anthony. The most notable place of interest here however is Early Christian Basilica Agios Stefanos, or what is left of it. You may spot its ruins with one column restored on the coast in front of the islet. It seems very tiny here that is why I decided to show a close up. Christians have apparently been here since 1500 years.
