Photographer's Note

This picture was taken through the front window of a car parked before the terrace of a bakery's. I had to wait in the car for a while, the bakery was busy and I observed the people sitting at the tables on the terrace.

Hello Ourania,
The sign gives a slightly ironic twist to the photo, because the lady doesn't look very happy at all. Not depressed either, just as indifferent as most of us probably look when we're thinking of something else and are unaware of a stranger's camera being pointed at us. Sitting there in the shade with her sunglasses on she looks rather cool, like a celebrity trying to be unnoticed. But you spotted her, in spite of her disguise and the plants almost hiding her. This is a nice snapshot, obviously taken by an experienced paparazza.

Hello Ourania,an excellent observation;I assume that the lady did not know that her picture was being taken?
Your choice of b/w works really well, it helps us to concentrate on all the shapes,textures and composition of your shot.

ad un primo sguardo la foto sembra molto confusa, in realtà la scelta del b&w ha ridotto molto questa sensazione, mettendo meglio in risalto la scena ricca di soggetti e dettagli.
La scritta "Happy" domina la foto insieme alla donna con gli occhiali che non sembra molto felice...

ώστε έγινες και paparazzi απ΄ ότι βλέπω...Πραφανώς και αστειέβομαι μιας αυτού του είδους η φωτογράφιση είναι δύσκολη και αποσπασματική.Η πράσινη απόχρωση του σκηνικού μας παραπέμπει σε παλαιότερες φωτογραφίες με το τίτλο που αναγράφεται στην τζαμαρία υποθέτω να μην συνάδει με το βλέμμα της κυρίας...

Hello Ourania. Rather unusual picture in your gallery. interesting color of the presentation. Even waiting in the car one can use for interesting observation and pictures. So you have ALWAYs camera with you? Is the woman happy? She doesn't seems to be. Well seen and presented.

Hello Ourania,
The lady does not look very happy to me, rather bored and perhaps a little depressed. In any event she makes for a most interesting photographic subject sat surrounded by vegetation. Black and white suits the mood perfectly and is very well rendered.

Bonjour Ourania,

Elle est vraiment très belle cette composition. J'aime les teintes sépia qui donnent un petit côté documentaire à cette image prise sur le vif. J'aime le jeu des reflets dans la vitre et le très joli cadrage.

Great shot! Well seen, and of course I approve of the monochrome treatment. The framing is spot on, and I wonder whether this is indeed the full frame, or a crop. I also wonder if you've ever heard of the late great Ivor Cutler? (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VBpSWS31xYs&app=desktop) A true eccentric.

This is a very artistic scene and the woman inside had the grace and elegance of s model, I bet she would love to see this photo. Very nice that you managed to get the of centre composition in a candid shot too, I would have been too nervous about being caught to compose the scene this well :)
