Chalkis

Photographer's Note

This is the Siren. It's not a very know site of Chalkis and located at the old city on the centre of the modern Chalkis.

Well I don't know too much infos about it. I know only that is a Venetian tower from the era of the Venish occupation of the city.

At the World War II, it was the war siren of the city, and it's name is from this! :) In Chalkis is known as "Seirina" (The Siren).

Now has many irons arround because it was ready to collapse! I believe it's safe for now. Around are very nice and beautiful old houses from the end of 19th century, not so many anymore! :(

I believe it's a site which worth to see if you visit my hometown. It's only 10 minutes walk away from Paralia of Chalkis and 2 minutes from Market (Agoras) square.

Kalispera Mpampis,
A nice perspective to the street of Chaliks well introduced to by the foregroung tower, you might want to crop a bit more on the left to remove the partially cut car

Μπάμπη καλησπέρα,
Ωραία 'συνέλαβες' την σειρήνα της Χαλκίδας,είναι πραγματικά εντυπωσική.Μου αρέσει η αντίθεση της σκιάς και του φωτός όπως επίσης και ο καθαρός γαλάζιος ουρανός.

it's not an easy one Mpampis
the shadow is hard, but I like the scene, the pov is nice and the note is very well, good photo job here.

Interesting to see this bastant tower in the architechture, maybe not the most ypical, and sure something special amidst the white houses around. Interesting not and place Mpampis

Μπάμπη γειά σου,έχω δει αρκετούς παρόμοιους πύργους σε πολλά σημεία της Εύβοιας,προς Δάφνη αλλά και στον δρόμο προς Κάρυστο.Μνημεία απ το παρελθόν,εννοείται αναξιοποίητα!Ωραίο όρθιο καδράρισμα

Γεια σου Μπάμπη!

Κι άλλη ωραία γωνιά της Χαλκίδας, που αναδεικνύεις με μια πολύ ωραία σύνθεση. Το μόνο που είναι λίγο "ενοχλητικό" είναι η βαρελοειδής παραμόρφωση.

Γειά σου Μπάμπη,
Άλλη μια πολύ όμορφη εικόνα από την Χαλκίδα δοσμένη ωραία και με πολύ καλή προοπτική. Μου αρέσει αρκετα η διαχείρηση των σκοτεινών και φωτεινών κομματιών της εικόνας.

Φωτιστικά έκανες θαύμα μπορώ να πω, εξισορροπόντας το σκιερό μέρος με το φως του ουρανού πάρα πολύ καλά.

Πολλή ωραία άποψη του γνωστού πύργου, της Σειρήνας όπως λέμε κι εμείς εδώ.Ωραίο και το παιχνίδι με τις σκιές.

Μήπως θα πρέπει να γράψεις σε ποιό δρόμο βρίσκεται ώστε όποιος θέλει να μπορεί να πάει να τον δει;
