Photographer's Note

The Castle of Eger with the István Dobó Caste Museum inside is amongst the most visited and most well-known monuments in Hungary. Its popularity can be attributed to the fact that this former border castle is one of the most complete in Hungary.

The building of the castle was started after the Mongol invasion and, although it kept a strategic role in more recent centuries, it won its true fame in 1552 when 2,000 heroic people under the lead of captain István Dobó fought off the besieging Turkish army of many tens of thousands. The castle and its valiant soldiers became legendary when Géza Gárdonyi wrote his novel titled 'Eclipse of the Crescent Moon' ('Egri csillagok') in the 20th century. This book was voted the most popular novel in a Hungarian TV show in 2006. The writer was buried in the castle.

Good view, well lit, a good 'blue hour' shot. Shame about the pedestrians, but almost impossible to get a clear view at such places. The flag is a nice detail. Have been to the castle, and have the book.

You took this picture during the blue hour, this gives always a very lovely result through the blue sky above the castle.
Also the statue in foreground make this picture very attractive.

Hello George, the expo on the lathe into light against diving gives perfect lights as well as a quality of image which is successful enough, the composition also is very well thought with like point of view principal this monument dedicating to the 2.000 heroic people, you had a good blow of?il and to judge well place of catch of sight, bus l`exposition is uniformly constant, the tower its walls and this blue sky night are of any beauty, the people in the foreground which is transformed into phantom hologram of with the long installation finishes to perfect the image, sincerely................... tu as eu un bon coup d’œil et bien juger de l’endroit de prise de vue, car l‘exposition est uniformément constante, la tour ses murs et ce ciel bleu nuit sont de toute beauté, les personnes au premier plan qui se transforme en hologramme fantôme du à la pose longue termine de parfaire l’image, bien amicalement………………. J’aurai du te rendre visite plus tôt mais j’ai beaucoup à faire ces jours-ci,

A great shot from the blue hour in this town. The statue is placed very well in front and I like the warm colours of the walls behind it. The sharpness is good and I really like the blur of the people and the flag. Well done and thanks for sharing!
