Photographer's Note

Our TE friend Ian from Australia has been posting Church photos from his time in Western Canada...so that has inspired me to post churches from Iceland.

First of all, in my previous post I showed you a modern Church from Iceland, in abstract form, and I said I would post more main photos - but I have changed my mind. Instead, you can look at WS photos here, of that church.

This church is actually in the middle of Nowhere. I put Thingeyri as the city, just because its the closest. Its in North Western Iceland, far away from the tourist route. This church is quite isolated and has seen better days, but I like it that way.

I used this isolated location to take a nap in my car. Driving in rural Iceland is difficult and time consuming, sometimes you have to rest to keep focused.

The church is nothing special, well...actually to me it is. Its quaint, small, isolated, somewhat run down, and its just SO typical of Iceland. I love it. And yes, I did try to get inside to take a look but the doors were locked.
