SYMPHONY OF COLORS IV, a photo from Waterford, Sud

Photographer's Note

Waterford is recognized as Ireland's oldest city. Settled by Viking pirates in 914, the year 2014 marks the city's 1100th birthday.

The Crystal Serenity anchored off the coast of Waterford on September 7, allowing passengers to be tendered to a small marina. In the morning we saw the medieval and Georgian buildings of the city. And in the afternoon we did a brief photographic expedition, walking along the coast to a fishing village. On the way, we came upon a private garden with resplendent flowers, a veritable symphony of colors set against a backdrop of rugged cliffs.

This image is a good candidate for the theme, Symphony of Colors.

Thee are beautiful colors, so varied and vibrant. You made a great scene here by using this great garden to fill e foreground while behind we have the lovely natural view of the coastline. I smile to see the Irish flag flying proudly in the distance!

This colorful foreground is beautiful. There are many different types of flowers to enjoy, and they make an excellent compliment to the cliffs and water in the background. We always associate green with Ireland, but here we see that it can also show us a "symphony of colors". :-)

The flowers make a very beautiful and colourful prelude to the dramatic b/g of cliffs and sea. In fact, there is a fine extension into the b/g, with the presence of a well positioned yacht and the flag flying on the hilltop.

Lovely photo from this very old town. Some very pleasant colours of the wonderful flowers in the foreground and the upper half of the photo shows the coastline very nicely. The boat is a nice detail.

Hello Bulent,

The title is very appropriate because those colourful flowers on the foreground mak it quite eye catching. I like also the "zigzag and leveled" compo, that makes the eye swing from the flowers until the horizon cached by the cape on the background.

You know, red roses are my favorite colour and favorite flowers.
But we see different colours and different flowers on these picture.
We get extra a lovely panoramic sight in the background.
Excellent perspective and depth picture.

its too bad we don't get to see more of this, and by this I mean colors in Ireland :)

so this is 1100 years old huh, i wonder if those cliffs we see were any different. perhaps, due to erosion, but not greatly.

the vertical composition works well here, i think it was the best choice.

The red and yellow fg flowers contrast well against the bg blue sea and blue grey sky. Good sharpness and shallow dof. The rocky forested headland reminds me of some of the same sea cliffs in Sydney. Good exposure on the white roses and the solitary yacht top right adds a fine focal point. Tfs!

A perspective superbly chosen combined view of the Mighty rock above the bay, and colors of many flowers in front of the cueving road that has a marvelous view out to sea.
The Ireland flag atop and the white sail-boat on far, gave exquisite sca;e to appreciate the whole.
