Photographer's Note

Another picture to describe the area in my place surroundings.
Tagliamento river is the border between provinces of Udine and Pordenone. I captured the view from right side of the river which is in Pordenone province; this is a connection of two pictures.

In the top left you can see Ragogna village.

The oldest settlement, according to the latest archaeological findings, dates back to the V millennium Before Christ. The area seems to have been later inhabited during the late Bronze Age. The Roman age is documented by the presence of numerous "rural villas" and for the presence of the ford on the Tagliamento river, which was watched over in medieval times by the great castle whose many remaining ruins may still be visited today. The findings are kept in a small Museum. Environmentally, the territory is characteristic and varied: from the river to the plains, to the lake, to the hill and to the mountains.
