THE PAPAL SYSTEM OF COASTAL SIGHT The coastal towers fate in the centuries long the shoreline of the Papal State depended for supplyings from the two fortresses of Civitavecchia and Neptune. Their construction could be cured and financed directly from the pontefici but often it came entrusted to the feudatari that controlled the various features of the coast. These last ones came authorize to you extraordinary levy tax for the financing of the buildings, their armament and the maintenance of the garrisons. In order to finance the reconstruction of the Tower of the Caldane, today Tor Caldara, Marcantonio Column were authorized person, with Devout bubble of IV of 10 August 1565, to collect one hundred shield to the month from its sudditi ones of Neptune. "the Tower of the Caldane - filler a document of 1620 - de this name because in that native place ve they are to caldare where makes sulfur... is placed in territory of Neptune between the Head of Anzo and the Tower de Saint Lorenzo, must very be guarded for being native place in which the enemy can make disembarkation ET to damage the country...". In order to construct the building, to circular plant, they were uses you material of recovery coming from from the buildings roman presents on the cape, as of use to that age. The coastal towers could exclusively be semaforiche, that is used after the sun functions of lookout-post and signalling of the danger with marks them of smoke, or could be armed with artillery pieces. In the 1617 Tower of the Caldane it came armed with an emery that is a artillery piece of small-caliber that could shoot iron balls from four pounds; from the reports of one of the periodic inspections that came carried out from papal officials, in 1631 the tower turns out fortified of a falcon, artillery piece of greater bore.

what a lovely beach scene. I love the different shades of blue and the way the rows of umbrellas curve. The blue wooden fence in front is a nice touch. A summer scene well captured. Warm regards,

Hi Giorgio,
Very interesting point of view, with these rows of umbrellas leading us to the sea. There is a little tilt of the horizon line, but it doesn't disturb the beauty of the picture.
Bellissimo lavoro.

Ciao Georgio.
Beautiful summers postcard. Looks indeed very inviting. Lovely colours and great contrast and light. Sharp and well detailed. Good composition and so is the point of view. There's a slight tilt to the left, but it doesn't matter that much. TFS.

The line of umbrellas is very attractive as it is the place too. Something curious is to see that empty area between the umbrellas and the people near the water. The other thing, and this I personally do not like, is the tilted horizon. In this type of photo the horizon should be straight.

Ciao vacanziero,
I punti sarebbero 6.

Ciao Giorgio,
Spero ti piaccia.

Giorgio,
This is a very appealing photo. Your composition is nice with the repeating pattern formed by the umbrellas and the inclusion of the tower overlooking the beach. The lighting and colors are fine with good sharpness and DOF.

Giorgio, a very nice composition with the double line of blue and white umbrellas leading into the landscape. Not necessarily the type of beaches that I like to go but with the globalization, airtraffic, etc we don't have any choices anymore. At least it is still no crowded as I was used while living in Rio.

Ciao Giorgio,
nice the view of this vivid place with sun umbrellas and the bathing people to fill all the beach. The tower in the top of the hill magnetize the glance.I noticed that the horizon is a little tilted in the left and maybe i wished for a bit less headroom over the top of the hill, but still wonderful image.Very informative your note too.

Buon giorno Giorgio! You give an extra to the beach here; your pov makes such a nice colored line of parasols on the beach. It's even a bit like a giant caterpillar. When I see this, I wish I was on holiday... Ciao.
