Grottaferrata,
A unique fortified abbey not far from Marino, and also close to Rome. This picture is taken looking along the walls and ditch to the main gate. The inner courtyard is open most days, and there is an excellent library here.
If you are interested in fortifications at all, this one is a 'must' visit if you are in the area.
