NEW YEAR 2010 DIVE IN TIBER (ROME)
Like every year also this year is carried out the ritual dive in tevere. to the presence of thousands persons. three brave they have renewed the tradition of the New Year's Day dive.

Comme chaque année cette année est aussi porté du rituel plongent dans tevere. à la présence de milliers de personnes. Trois courageux ils ont repris la tradition du Jour de l'an plongent.

come tutti gli anni anche quest'anno c'è stato il classico tuffo nel tevere, migliaia gli spettatori.

Not easy to do ! But tradition is tradition and accepts no limits.

Una toma muy oportuna del saltador cuando cae en el agua,
el encuadre es sobresaliente con parte del arco del puente haciendo
de marco a otra imagen del fondo, buen trabajo.

You really captured the scene at just the right moment. I like how the arch provides sort of a natural frame to the upper part of the picture. The blue speedos definitely stand out against the background which has rather tame colors in it.

Hi Giorgio,
The composition with the bridge is very good, this was obvious already from the thumbprint. But I didn´t see the real motive until I saw the full picture. A perfect capture indeed!

j'ai vu un reportage télé très interressant hier sur ce rituel

Les conditions climatiques n'avaient pas l'air terribles et l'on en admire encore plus ce courageux plongeur (expérimenté visiblement!). Une prise de vue au bon moment!

Hi Giorgio,

interesting tradition you have there and you captured it well. He seems to be a good diver because he's not causing much of a splash. The blue swim trunks are a nice spot of color and that body is a pleasure to look at! :-))

Bonsoir Giorgio,

Tradition que nous avons aussi en Bretagne le premier jour de l'année, mais je ne l'ai pas encore testé, pas assez d'entrainement. Ici pas le temps de goûter la température de l'eau !!! Je suppose qu'il faut avoir une bonne condition physique pour réaliser cet exploit... Bon timing dans le plongeon avec une belle gestion des lumières et des couleurs. Bien vu Giorgio.

Very brave man, to dive from such a hight and into the icy cold water. I do not think it is good for health. Interesting custom, rather strange. But I admire how you caught him just in the right moment, amazing!!

Meglio del TG1, dove hanno fatto vedere solo uno che saltava a bomba.
Questo sembra Cagnotto ai tempi d'oro... certo, che p...e buttarsi dal ponte e buttarsi proprio lì.
Probabilmente è uno degli ultimi legionari, quelli che avevano per comandante Massimo Decimo Meridio.

I can see that you have a similar tradition to ours. Here, people do not jump, but swim in the River Vltava at Christmas and on New Year's. Brr...

What makes this photo work for me is how the curvature of the bridge follows the diver, giving the diver a pathway so-to-speak.

Hello Giorgio,

A fun and strange photo than this one with the body without head only appearing from the water surface.
Good composition with the pilar of the bridge drawing a frame inside the frame and the vertical choice to show the heigh of the jump.
Brave or crazy :-)
