San Torello, a photo from Arezzo, Tuscany

Non è stato facile cercare di evitare le persone, c'erano molti turisti in questo punto. L'arco che si vede davanti è l'antica porta di ingresso a Poppi, oggi chiamato percorso medievale, parte dal basso e si inerpica verso il villaggio con un percorso ripido su lastricato, appena oltrepassata la porta abbiamo la Badia di San Fedele, all'interno ci sono le spoglie del Beato Torello, beatificato da Benedetto XIV e ancora in attesa di canonizzazione, ma per gli abitanti di Poppi è il santo patrono ufficiale e tutti gli anni viene festeggiato con una processione il 16 Marzo.

Ciao caro Carlo, Maybe you waited for a while, but you succeeded - there is noone here. You have this beautiful view all for yourself :) Beautiful old walls, interesting gate with a tower and nice landscape through it. Another gem in your area.

Warm regrads from lakes and forests. In short time the forests will be much bigger and thicker and the lake much deeper :)

Ciao Carlo,le tue note aiutano molto,sembra un borgo perso nel tempo e senza nessuno tra i suoi vicoli guardando la foto,sei stato bravo ad evitare la gente e a cogliere una grande e rischiosa prospettiva nel miglior modo,l'ombra del lampione riempie anche la parte bassa.Buona Domenica,Luciano

This is a wonderful old tower. The colours and light are perfect and I believe there is also a nice view from the gate to the right.

I like very much the point of view and the presence of the lamp with its shadow, which makes a splendid and interesting pointer into the scene. The image is pleasantly illuminated and benefits from very good colours and clarity. The green shrubs make a lovely contrast with the surrounding architecture.

Hello Carlo,
The vertical format works well here giving us close up detail of the tower. The low POV is nice placing the tower against the deep blue sky. The lighting and colors are great and the photo has excellent sharpness.

I agree: being able to shoot scenes like this without hoards of tourists is desirable but not easy. Especially when we photographers are usually the tourists too! But some life may be desirable: an old lady with her shopping, a couple of locals sitting on a bench in the shade. I guess the locals are off the streets avoiding the tourists. You can't win! But this is a beautiful architectural shot in glorious lighting.

mi piace molto questa composizione, e' interessante come hai piazzato il campanile nel centro del quadro, sullo sfondo e in alto. Le prospettive, gli elementi ed i colori che lo circondano fanno un conesto ben equilibrato, dinamico, asimmetrico ed intrigante. Eccellente la chiarezza della tua descrizione, deliziosa la luce forte e meravigliosi i colori contrastanti. Complimenti e grazie!
