Fountain of the Leti-Sansi palace
The fountain, coeval with the seventeenth-century reconstruction of the building, is inserted in a semicircular arched aedicule in the courtyard of Palazzo Leti Sansi; the water comes out in a continuous jet from the mouth of a lion carved in stone and pours into an upper basin and from there it falls onto the lower, wider one. there seem to be a huge number of fountains in this town, I am so impressed by that. This is quite charming. The close up which you showed in the workshop allows us to better appreciate the details and beauty of this fountain.

Ciao Caro Silvio,

The number of fountains that you have been able to find and photograph lays testament to care taken, to ensure ordinary people had access to water. I would not be able to find more than a couple, in the whole area, where I live!
Compared with some of the others, this is quite a simple fountain but is neatly composed and sharply captured.

here we have another lion head, but the design is well done and more commercial and the classic lines of the fountain are less monumental.

The lion sculpture provides a good focal point. Adequate sharpness and well framed and composed. The diffused light and pastel colours work well here. Tfs!
