Photographer's Note

Taken on my first visit to Venice with my sister. That was the sole purpose of our 8-hour train ride to this water city all the way from Rome: to ride on a gondola :) I don't remember exactly how much we paid for a ride through the Grand Canal, but it was for about 30 minutes. It was funny though that we did it despite the freezing weather, with only a few gondola shops open for tourists like us.

It wasn't a good day to take pictures because it was cloudy and gloomy most of the time we were there, and also I didn't use a tripod, just trusted my steady hand, so the boats are still kinda blurred. So to post this photo I decided to convert it to greyscale, and using selective coloring (PhotoShop) for the red seats and floorboard :)

It was a year ago when I took this photo but until now I can still remember the thrill of riding that gondola :)

Peace and light,
