San Gemini is a comune (municipality) of c. 4,500 inhabitants in the province of Terni in the Italian region Umbria, located about 60 km south of Perugia and about 10 km northwest of Terni.
San Gemini borders the municipalities of Montecastrilli, Narni and Terni.
The town is a well-preserved medieval burgh with two lines of walls, built over the remains of a small Roman center along the old Via Flaminia. It is especially known for its mineral waters.
The twelfth-century duomo dedicated to the commune's patron, the locally venerated Saint Gemine, whose relics were recovered in 1775, was rebuilt in 1817. Brother Gemine was a monk of Syrian origins who died in 815.[2] The burial urn and original stone are conserved in the sacristy; the saint has been reburied under the high altar. The saint's day is 9 October.

Bellissima composizione che ci riporta allo spirito proprio dei piccoli borghi d'Italia: il gatto solitario sul ripido lastricato di un villaggio del centro si guarda intorno ed ammira i colori pastello delle pareti e le lampade d'antan che decorano le facciate delle case.

From the thumbnail image I thought there was a poster in the arch instead of view of the town and landscape. The cat represents a comic focal point. Excellent photo and informative note.

Ciao caro Silvio,
impossibile non apprezzare una foto dove c'è uno stupendo micione come questo, che sembra posare proprio per il fotografo.
A parte l'importantissimo dettaglio del gatto, :-) devo dire che anche il resto è piacevolissimo, con un geniale intercalare di soggetti che porta l'occhio al di là dell'arco. Una composizione ricca e bene realizzata. Bravissimo!

I love the old stone arch framing the yellow roofed house in the bg, which warm cold color contrast against the fg blue tones superbly. The cat in the fg animates the scene. Good sharpness & pov. Tfs!

Excellente composition.
J'aime particulièrement cette entrée arcée qui s'ouvre qui apparaît comme une tableau.
La perspective et le point de vue est très original.

This is a beautifully composed picture. In fact, it's almost three pictures in one! - the "main" picture, the distant view beyond the far fence to the left, and the "middle" picture framed beautifully in the gateway down the steps on the right. The little cat in the foreground is a fine addition.

Lovely soft colours, perfect exposure and excellent detail.

A similar name to San-Gimignano, made me intrigued, to open the image.
Nice view under the arc, and onto the veranda on left. Good details and objects, like the lamp-post and cat there.
Pleasent picture to look at.
