Photographer's Note

Situated to 281 m s.l.m. Scheggino it accommodates in its territory (35 kmq) approximately 650 inhabitants.
Castle of slope, of triangular structure with cassero to the apex, encircled from walls of the sec. XII it introduces today nearly entire restructured with the dense one built up evocatively intersected from small roads and perrons that go on the hill: the village is introduced today fused with the castle in an only complex. Of ancient origins "Schiaginum" before, "Schezzino" then and to first of the XVIII sec. They chip, has one history of all the similar one to the other centers of the comprensory of the Valnerina: to cite longest I besiege to which the citizen she was subordinate, that one of 1522 to work of Picozzo Brancaleoni, than however it was rejected thanks to the presence of the castle and to the powerful ones it walls that to the age the city encircled. Today such Country enjoys a truly singular landscape, had to the particular beauty of the valley of the Nera in this zone.
