Photographer's Note

Last shot in the series „Simple”.
And my last post for the next 15 days. I am leaving you for two weeks skiing holiday in northern Italy, and… of course for some new photo – trophies.
With this shot from St. Peter’s Cathedral in Vatican I wanted to close for some time my series on simple compositions, simple motifs, and simple way of “playing” with light.
My idea was to try to push the camera (and software a bit, sure) to weed out just one important element in each of the shots (so that all other should not matter for the main message), and apply simple “game” of light to it. Hope I have managed well enough and you enjoyed it together with me.

What I like in this photo is the divine aspect you managed to restitute, strongly reminds me of these old "Don Camillo" movies, you know the ones that were opposing the priest and the communist mayor in Italy !!

This is a great idea, but I don't actually think it's come off too well. There's a lot of glare around the window, and the frame is burnt out. There's a lot of shot where this could be forgiven, but in this case the window seesm to be central to the compo, so I think that's quite a detraction in this case.

Il émane de cette photographie une sorte de repos, de recueillement et de lumière divine.
Exercice très difficile. L'émotion passe.

Indeed a simpel picture with very wonderful light, because of the sun beam the small text with the yellow colour are nice detail.

Nice Jerzy, even if you are at the moment in Selva di val Gardena (a meeting with Guenter ??!)
I like the idea (tele lens are my favorites because i can isolate the interesting details).
The vanishing latin written is a symbol of Vaticano.
For my eyes, i would tend to crop a little more, but is a nice compo!
Now i will come to Dolomites with my ski...!

Swietnie zlapales swiatlo, nie fatwo to zrobic ale tobie sie udalo. Dzieki temu ze znaczna czesc zdjecie jest ciemna, mozemy sie skoncentrowac na swietle, i starac sie domyslec co sie kryje w ciemnosci.
Poniewaz zdjecie jest w kolorze, niestety rama okna nie wyglada zbyt ladnie, jakby bylo czrno biale nie rzucalo by sie tak w oczy.
