Photographer's Note

I visited a friend in the south of Italy, more specifically Santa Paolina. I didn't care that much for nougat, but now I am a fan. At a request of another friend, my friend took me to this small bakery called "Torrone di Iorio, Pasticceria, 1750" in a nearby town, Montemiletto. I was choosing some nougat to take home as a present, when this lady went to the back and gave me a bag full of fresh made, hard almond nougat, as a sample. It was amazingly good.

They have many different types of nougat according to their hardness(friabili, morbidi), type of nut used (almonds, cashew, walnuts, pistachio) and combinations with other flavors and ingredients (lemon, chocolate, with sponge cake, limoncello, coffee beans, vanilla, honey, rum, fruits, espresso, cereals).

I rotated the shot 2 degrees, cropped and resized it, and increased contrast slightly.
