Photographer's Note
‘Modica - Someone’s very fond of red and blue’
Another photo of the district Dente (Sicilian language, coming from d’oriente). The picture is taken from in Modica Alta.
In the labyrinth-like view of the old town on the hill, it was the laundry which really caught my attention.
Have also a look in the workshop.
Modica in south-eastern Sicily is situated in the dramatic landscape of the Monti Iblei, a range of high ground divided up by deep valleys and surprisingly populous towns.
Important in medieval times, Modica was rebuilt after the great earthquake of 1693 and now boasts fine late-baroque architecture as well as a medieval old town.
Apart of its baroque architecture you’ll find there lots of picturesque views.

Salut Paul,

Hello Paul,
Well chosen title to this wonderful picture. Amazing how densely buil is this town. There is no space between the houses. Superb all three pictures giving us the idea of Modica. Fantastic patchwork. So many lovely houses, a photographers heaven. I haven't heard of this fascinating place.

Bonjour, cher Paul,

Heel mooi gedaan Paul. Bedankt.
Prettig weekend,
John.

Groet Rob

Hello Paul,
Roof-top's scenery over the old town houses, spotted selected object to refer as a focal point. I also looked around, and see a nice veranda on the lower part of the picture, with green vegetation, that appear well cared, and all of the houses has wooden window-shutters mostly green or brown.
Fine clear to the smallest details.
Bravo,
Ike

Hello Paul,
These photos are all extremely attractive and anyone could have been an official upload. Maybe my favorite is the WS #3 (added after midnight Pacific time?), where you found nice flowers for the foreground and the town looks like a fantastic mosaic. But they are all good. This one you have chosen has a touch of cubism and except for the red laundry the colour scheme is quite modest and restrained.
Kind regards,
Gert

Bonjour Paul,

Ottimo lavoro, molto accurato.
Buona domenica
Carlo

Hi, Paul. A beautiful composition with so many colors, texture and character. The rooftops of the buildings contrasts nicely with the blue red and warm colors. The point of view and framing adds to the composition.

Hello Paul,
This is like a football crowd of houses: tightly packed together, eyes wide open and favourite colours on display! It is so chummy, so friendly, a real neighbourhood of shoulder-to-shoulder houses.
I'm amazed at the details you can see from this elevated viewpoint.
A well composed and well exposed photograph.
Thank you for sharing this,
Bev :-)

Salut Paul,
Effective tight framing and cropping that focuses attention on the sea of red rooftops and blue water tanks and solar panels. Superb sharpness and nice to have a couple of lemon yellow facades to break the repetitive pattern. Tfs!

Hello Paul.
A sensational close-up of this town, where the houses are so close together, it seems that no streets, an image with many details that recreate several different shades of color in many points, blues, creams, and a touch of red in the washing.
A magnificent colorful which gives the image a lot of chromatic wealth.
Very good management of lighting and very good sharpness.
Well done. I like it.
I wish you a nice week.
Best wishes.
Luis.

Hi Paul!
So many old houses and so much to see here, so many little details. Good composition, it was a good idea not to include the sky.
