San Gimignano is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Siena in Tuscany, Italy.
For the characteristic medieval architecture of its historic center with its many towers, almost a medieval Manhattan, has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. San Gimignano, despite some eight-twentieth-century restorations, is mostly intact in the two-thirteenth-century aspect and is one of the best examples in urban urban city of Europe. It is also famous for its good white wine, the vernaccia.

The fountain makes a good focal point in this lively looking market and piazza. Good sharpness and wishing now that I had visited this city when I based nearby in Siena. Tfs!

Hello Silvio,
A lovely composition paying more attention to the pretty square than the famous towers. The texture of the stone walls is perfectly captured and the people in the square create a nice ambience. The fine light is well managed.

J'ai eu le grand plaisir de visiter cette ville à quelques occasions et je crois bien que si cela était possible, j'y retournerais avec grand plaisir. Beau passage de l'ombre à la lumière.

Just to your back and a bit to the right side, there is a marvelous gelato small shop, and altogether found the Piazza della Cisterna as the center of this intruiguing and attractive town - which you placed a fine picture here.

Hello Silvio, I loved this town when we visited a few years ago. Standing in the square and soaking up the atmosphere seems to be what people like doing.
You were fortunate with the sunlight, as it illuminates the different buildings beautifully.

Ciao Silvio, Beautiful view from San Gimignano. Not so many people here. I was so afraid of the herds of tourists that i didn't go there in my last Tuscany trip. Wonderful square but where are the high towers? beautiful light and nice colours.

podemos disfrutar visualmente la magnífica arquitectura medieval de esta famosa ciudad gracias a tu buen encuadre vertical, que incluye la totalidad de la alta torre, y un bonito cielo azul.
La escena tiene mucha vitalidad por la gente que aparece en tu toma, y debo decir que has gestionado perfectamente la exposición para equilibrar la diferencia entre la zona bajo el sol y la zona en la sombra.

A charming gathering part of the old town but I love how the figs under shade and shadow drawing the eyes a strong point and lead into the whole capture. You have achieved a sensible balanced exposure, vivid colour, detail and superb contrast to blue sky. Lovely take, Congrats
