Rock settlement of Ripatonna Cicognina in Chiusa del Vescovo - Ischia di Castro (VT)

The settlement has a rather unusual and complex plan, in fact it is divided into three different levels and with several rooms communicating with each other and connected by a balcony open on the overhang carved into the rock which is accessed via a rather steep ramp. The rooms in which you can see stairways and traces of ancient now disappeared mezzanines, are furnished with niches and built-in wardrobes.
The hermitage is located in a steep place and the wooden balustrades do not always offer the necessary guarantees of solidity.
When crossing the various rooms, care must be taken, since the ground tends to collapse and the vaults, as well as the perimeter walls, are in a noticeable state of neglect.
