Fountain of Palazzo Rosari Spada - Spoleto
Another little-known Spoleto fountain. It is located in the courtyard of the unfinished Palazzo Rosari Spada, with access from both Via delle Terme and Corso Mazzini. It is enclosed within a high niche. The elliptical-shaped containment tank collects the water that comes out of a cinnamon placed in the mouth of a sculpted face, depicting a satyr. It is flanked by interesting remains of a retaining wall from the Roman era. In documents dated 1839, when the building was already owned by the Marignoli family, the fountain is described "... with a trough for livestock and with a cinnamon for drinking water, placed near the stable".

Hello Silvio,
You captured this fascinating small fountain with superb sharpness and light. I like the funny face of the fountain, but I also like the elegant shape of the shady part of the niche. Both WS are good complements.

this is a lovely addition to your collection. I like the presence of the direct sunlight here. That makes a huge difference. The light emphasizes inequalities of the surface. Great final effect.

A sad looking guy having ciggy break! This is lovely, a charming quintessential Italian ye olde water fountain which carries the sense of great age. The walls seem to have so many hidden memories to tell for sure. Clarity and exposure handled seamlessly, great light and shadow giving that extra depth. It's beautiful take and tfs
