Caso Castle - Sant’Anatolia di Narco (PG)
Sloping castle at 667 meters above sea level, from which you can enjoy a wonderful panorama. The valley dwellers of the Val di Narco probably settled here after the attack by the Saracens in 890, to escape danger from the passage of armies along the valley.
At the end of the 12th century it belonged directly to Duke Corrado, it then passed from the ducal domain to that of the Church and then under that of the city of Spoleto.
In the thirteenth century, like the other castles of the Valnerina, it was a small semi-independent community from Spoleto and strongly linked to it; it had its own statutes, but the podestà was appointed by the ducal city hegemon, there was a fortress of Spoleto, now disappeared.
