Clarignano

Still today, the Torre di Clarignano, dating back to the 15th century, dominates the hills surrounding the Morcicchia castle, the only testimony of the homonymous castle of medieval origin. According to some, the ancient center takes its name from the Clarignano family, a noble family from Montefalco who first lived in the ruined castle in the 11th century, while for others it was the same nobles who took the name of the castle and the surrounding land as appellation. Clarignano followed the events of the other fortified settlements in the area, was part of Normandy, was then subjected to vassalism to the church and finally became part of the Spoleto Duchy.

Hello Silvio,
A magnificent view of the tower standing completely alone on the mountainside covered with trees. For those stationed there in the Middle Ages life must have been very isolated. I wonder if the idea of boredom was invented in those days. ;-) It's a well composed photo with excellent colours and light management.

Hello Silvio, from this point of view the isolation of the tower is emphasised by the tree covered hills, and the even higher hills in the background.
I like the light highlighting one face of the tower.

Hello Silvio,
The side of the tower on which the sunlight shines stands out well from the wooded area while the side in the shade is seen less quickly in these surroundings.
This tower seems very difficult to get to unless there is a path hidden by the trees.
At the top of the hill the sun is shining but it is cold enough not to melt the snow.

Ciao Silvio,solo una piccola torretta in mezzo al nulla, ma ci hanno portato la corrente, giusto per deturpare il paesaggio con il filo e i pali,buona cattura ma sicuramente molto zoommata e un po' di dettagli si sono persi,ottimo cappello nevoso in alto. Buon weekend,Luciano

Quite an interesting sight. The lone tower seems almost like misplaces in the deep forest on the slopes of the trees. You have captured it well with several horizontal layers of composition, in particular the top one decorated in white made a nice contribution.

Impressive landscape with these mountains covered with trees and even snow at the highest point, the tower of that castle is surprising to see at the top of one of the totally lonely heights, I wonder what is unusual as a place of residence without being next to a villa .
Optimum light, sharpness and color.
