Photographer's Note

The view from the centre of the Ponte Vecchio Bridge, looking towards the dome of the Duomo.

A common trait I found in all Italian cities were the immaculately dressed and groomed locals. The facades of buildings were perhaps not looked after as much as the people who lived there, but the vibrancy of life on the streets is where the true spirit lies.

Originally a colour image, cropped and converted to B&W. I feel the B&W brings out the contrast, especially between the two foreground ladies and the surrounds, to illustrate my point.
