Photographer's Note

Portovenere is a town and comune (municipality) located on the Ligurian coast of Italy in the province of La Spezia.
Dória Castle on the hill was constructed by the Genovese in 1161
In 1997 Portovenere and the villages of Cinque Terre (Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola e Riomaggiore) were designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site
Its population is of about 4,000 inhabitants (2006).

Nice one, Juan, the colourful houses are framed so well with the sky and the sea! (but I'd still crop some sky I think...) A comprehensive view of this lovely village, complete with the church and the fortress on top...

Hello Juan,
A very pretty composition of this seaside town dominated by its very imposing castle. I like the different pastel colours of the houses clustered around the seafront. Good sharpness.

Cada vez que vejo fotos desta região fico com mais vontade de visitá-la. É mesmo linda! E sua foto, um cartão postal perfeito! Esta arquitetura, a enseada, a igreja o castelo, todos componentes de um lugar que só pode ser fantástico. Tem coisa melhor do que viajar? Ok.. poucas, né.

What a beautiful view on this town. I like very much to see the colourful, narrow houses on the other side of the water. The castle above them look great too. The boats and people add life and the light is enhancing. Well done!

Un point de vue qui donne une bonne impression generale de ces belles maisons aux couleurs pastel, c'est interessant de voir comment la bleue clair sur la gauche a une inclinaison tres differente !

Belle photo de cette ville de portovenere très colorée et de son superbe château qui domine toute cette baie.Bien ces bateaux tiut le long de la plage,cela fait un peu penser a Venise.Jolies couleurs et bonne netteté.

Magnifique prise de vue de ce coin d'Ilalie avec tous ces maisons de différantes couleurs cordées les unes contre les autres et la forteresse juste au dessus, on ne voit pas ça chez-nous.
