Photographer's Note

This nightshot of the St. Peter's Basilica has been taken from St Angel's Bridge (Ponte Sant'Angelo), a very happy POV to capture the majesty of the Vatican and Christianity symbol. The bridge in the foreground is Ponte Vittorio Emanuele II, that crosses the Tiber and leads to Via della Conciliazione (see the rows of lamps on the right) and St Peter's Square.

Ponte Vittorio Emanuele II was designed by Ennio De Rossi and opened in 1911. It took the place of the 18th century building belonged to the Hospital Saint Spirit. The 111m bridge has 3 arches with four heavy allegorical sculptures situated over the central arch and four end pillars decorated with bronze Victories.

Technical Notes
The picture is the result a digital blending of two exposures (0 and +2/3 stop) to get a lighter sky and at the same time a correct exposure for the reflections on the water.
