Macro is a kind of photography that requires very precise control of all parameters. Most important being point of focus and depht of field. This one requires more sharpness, that means tripod and higher f-number.
Also the subject centered in the middle of the frame is not the most exiting composition. Do not be discouraged please. At least you did see the opportunity :-)
