Photographer's Note

Hi, this is a church in Kaunas called Kauno Šv Arkangelo Mykolo Bažnyčia thanks to a nice update by you guys!!!

The shot was taken on the night we arrived to Kaunas as our first stop going from Finland to Croatia (more info of the trip will be soon posted in the travelogue description). We parked the car in guarded parking loth, and then I saw this bueatiful church basically floating in the air, bounded by dark skies. I simply had to take a picture of it.

Some info about the Kaunas, as it has a very interesting history from the city's website:

"Kaunas with nearly 400 thousand inhabitants is one of the most significant cities of Lithuania. It can also lay claim to be a city of young people with over 35,000 students studying at one of the seven universities here.

In 1408, Magdeburg rights were granted to the city of Kaunas by the privilege of Vytautas the Great. During the early 20th century, governed by its first Burgomaster Jonas Vileisis, Kaunas was the home of the Lithuanian Government and the capital city; a period considered by many as the golden age of the city. However, history tells us that even before this date, the city, situated at the confluence of the rivers Neris and Nemunas, experienced many other periods of great prosperity and national importance."

Technical note:

I only rotated the canvas a bit to straighten the pic, cropped the edges and that is all.

Cheers, Alan
