Photographer's Note
The reason I post this is not so much to show - once again, in a typical postcard manner - the old city of Luxembourg which was known as Gibraltar of the North through the Middle Ages. Nor is it to give those of you who know Luxembourg an opportunity to recognise it from the air. It is simply to demonstrate how much can be salvaged from a bad photo with a bit of hard work and determination. The result is maybe not the most perfect - but compare it to the original in the workshop, and I think you will agree.

Hi Per.
The contrast between your post and the original shot is truly surprising! Your efforts to salvage your shot deserve a word of prise. Bravo!

Hi Per and my best wishes.
Never been to Luxemburg but know have a better idea. You have made a wide composition where the whole "old city" is in, detailed with a very special disposition.
Before seing the ws i had not imagined it could be by plane,
This is well done

Hi Per,
I saw your original image and the comment with it. I took it as a challenge and had a try with Photoshop on the (original) low resolution image. Because of that I knew I couldn't become the same result, but it was an outstanding exercise. Thanks for the opportunity.

Hi Per, You did an excellent restoration work. No doubt about it. I tried some simple PhotoShop recipes to see if I could do something. I don't come close to your result. Especially the way you restored colors and contrasts in the foreground is remarkable. Philippe

Hi Per, I missed this one. You did a remarkable job on this on. Nice to see the 'Gibraltar of the North' from the skies. You were flying one of the last Fockers Friendship????
