Photographer's Note

Rollingergrund, Luxembourg-city.

Driving through Rollingergrund, mainy people pass along this nice little place, without taking the time for a glance.

The "Chateau de Septfontaines" is the Luxembourg headquater of the Villeroy & Boch ceramics manufacturer. In 1755 the "Jean-François BOCH et frères" factory established in Luxemburg, starting production in 1767, well before the starting of production in Mettlach (Germany). Products from Septfontaines became known as of high quality very soon and allready in 1770 the "Brindille" design was created, which is still commercialised today under the name "Vieux Luxembourg" (Old Luxembourg).

Last year the company decided however to stopp most of the production at the Luxembourg site and many workers lost their job, so that activity is now nearly reduced to selling at the factory-store.
