Arriving on Gozo

It’s time to show some more photos from Gozo, the second-largest island in the Maltese archipelago, from which I have only shown its southern coast so far. It took this photo while arriving by ferry in the harbour town of Mġarr.

Gozo (Maltese: Għawdex) is 67 square kilometres, about the same size as the island of Manhattan and has got about 32,700 inhabitants. It is located approximately 6 kilometres northwest of the island of Malta. Mġarr is the largest fishing village on Gozo. A ferry service with Malta had already been established as early as 1241. The current ferry terminal opened in 2009 and links Gozo with the town of Ċirkewwa.
