Nous sommes à Victoria sur l’île de Gozo. Les fêtes et cérémonies religieuses y sont importantes et mobilisent pratiquement toute la population des petites villes de cette île. Aujourd’hui, la Vierge Santa Marija a été sortie de l’église en fin de journée. Elle est portée par 8 hommes et sera conduite à travers de la ville accompagnée de l’orchestre municipal et suivie par une grande partie de la population. Ensuite des feux artifices auront lieu et la vierge sera de retour dans son église aux alentours de 4 heures du matin.

We are in Victoria on the island of Gozo. The religious festivals and ceremonies there are important and mobilize practically all the population of the small towns of this island. Today, the Virgin Santa Marija has left the church at the end of the day. She is carried by 8 men and will be carried through the city accompanied by the orchestra municipal and followed by a great part of the population. Then fires artifices will take place and the virgin will be back in her church about 4 o’clock in the morning.
