A Maltese Falcon

Something completely different today, I saw this beautiful bird of prey while exploring the southern coast of Malta. A subspecies of the peregrine falcons is the so-called Maltese falcon or Mediterranean peregrine falcon (Falco peregrinus brookei), although comparing pictures of this species with the one I caught, I don’t think this is an actual Maltese falcon. It was sitting with its keeper at the side of the road from the town of Żurrieq to the coast, while it caught the last rays of sunlight in 2018.
