Photographer's Note

Firstly, in no way do I condone or admire Lenin. He was a tyrannical, despotic megalomaniac. Even the Russians are 'woke' and tore down many of his statues in the 1990's.

Secondly, Moldova and Transnistria are for all intents and purposes, 2 separate and very different countries. Moldova is much like Romania in language, art, cuisine, religion and culture. Transnistria is more like the former USSR or even Ukraine, and lives up to the outdoor Soviet museum tag.

Entitled 'Monument to Lenin' by sculptor Nikolai Tomsky, the statue stands in front of the town hall in the bg.
