Photographer's Note

Island of St. Martin is the smallest inhabited sea island divided between two nations, Netherlands Antilles and France. This peaceful frontier dates back to 1648. On the eastern shore of the island there's however a border dispute going on. On the Oyster Pond area the border follows the northern (left) shoreline, according to Dutch opinion. The French interepretation is that the border goes through the centerline of the bay.
And the Captain Oliver's Restaurant and Marina is build above water, leaving the place under dispute. Owner of the place has paid taxes to Netherlands Antilles ever since the place was opened in the 1980's and naturally is not happy about the idea of the place becoming French territory.
