Zaandam, Havensafari - fabbrica di farina e pane "De Vrede"
uno degli edifici piu' interessanti lungo il percorso dell'Havensafari e' la fabbrica di farina e pane De Vrede, risalente al 1917 e costruita in uno stile dai richiami art deco. in disuso da molti anni, fu dichiarata monumento nazionale nel 2001 - anche se cio' non ha evitato che vi si costruisse davanti un terminal per container (la struttura gialla che vedete sulla destra)...

Zaandam, Havensafari - flour and bread factory "De Vrede"
one of the most interesting buildings along the Havensafari route is this steam factory, a flour and bread factory built in 1917 in Art Deco style.
unused for many years, it was declared national monument in 2001.
which didn't prevent the construction of a container terminal right in front of its entrance (the yellow structure on the right hand side)...

A beautiful image that is not without recalling the ports of Scandinavia, a light very well directed that highlights the places and I really enjoy the touch of yellow crane, which gives a nice effect to your composition!

Hi Cris,

Nice to see it. An interesting building. The water body on the foreground adds dimensions to the picture. The cloud laden sky looks nice. The yellow structures is distracting the vision.

even though it may not be the most modern and creative of buildings, it certainly has its charm.
it somehow looks ugly and beautiful at the same time...what is it about this structure that has me hooked...i'm not sure.
very well shot, as its upfront and centre, stong and bold

Hello Cristina,

Havensafari...that got me LOL! A great title for this series. No haven wildlife, though, but architecture takes central stage here. A building, like there are many (here in Antwerp too), but they are disappearing fast. The white builing sticking out behind it is like a sign of things to come. But I prefer the oldies.
