Infinite Reflections

In addition to her fascination for dots, mirrors are another recurring theme in the work of Yayoi Kusama.
One of her works at the exhibition working in museum Voorlinden was a maze with countless round convex mirrors on the walls and ceilings, all of the same size.
A appropriate illustration for a short reflection at the end of 2019.

Christmas, the days of light and peace and the last days of 2019 with its abundance of retrospections and reflections of the past year are days that are excellent for self-reflection, to provide a good opportunity to determine how we stand in life and to formulate new wishes for the coming year.

Hello Rob,
I didn't see these mirrors in Stockholm. Obviously they provide the "infinite reflections" of the title, or more down to earth an "infinite number of selfies". Ms Kusama had a very smart idea, part of which is to design the room for a maximum effect. That is something she also used in the Stockholm exhibition. Then it's up to the photographer to handle the light and the challenges, which you did well.

Genoeg spiegels om uitgebreid op het afgelopen jaar te reflecteren, sterker nog, we kunnen met gemak het afgelopen decennium de revue laten passeren. Het aantrekkelijkst is hier nog wel dat alle ronde spiegels door alle ronde spiegels worden gespiegeld.

I would have spent quite a while photographing these mirrored artworks; there are so many possibilities for different compositions. I like this main view of the labyrinth, and it's nice to see you in the WS photo, too. :-) I hope you're having a beautiful holiday season.

Hello Rob,

This is an amazing series of photographs.
I love the repeating shapes and the reflections, all set in this zig-zag passage, wonderfully colour co-ordinated.
This is the sort of image that would be shown to suggest the interior of an alien spaceship, with lots of circular dials and buttons. As a photograph, it is amazing for its clarity and design.
Love the w/s, too!
I cannot help being reminded of the work of Anish Kapoor!

you got a special view of this artwork.here we are facing the first death of a guy from my town, his coffin passed in front my store few minutes ago, he was living in a nearby city.
