This bar on the corner of the market square is normally full on a Saturday lunchtime with shoppers who pause for coffee or after-shoppers who stop for a beer, but now only take-away is possible. The imaginative owner now sells take-away gluhwein to warm the market shoppers at the farmers market, Noordplein, Rotterdam

People have become very inventive to continue trading, in these very stressful times.

Your b&w photograph is absolutely pin-sharp!
Though we have no audio, we can understand the verbal connection between customer and stall holder.

I had to research gluhwein, though I suspected what it might be. What a good idea to warm shoppers and offer them a little cheerfulness!

Hello Elaine,
It's a good street photo showing daily life in Covid days. There are lots of nice details and fine monochrome tones and contrasts, and it's a very sharp photo. Glühwein, here known as 'glögg', is very popular in Sweden too, especially around Christmas, but I doubt that our laws on alcohol would allow any take-away.

Goedemiddag Elaine,

Gluhwein is een drankje dat heel veel mensen lusten tijdens de koude winter periode.
Maar corona heeft zoveel overhoopgehaald maar misschien zal het vaccin ons redden.
U blijft uw zwart/wit foto's behouden dit is een keuze gemaakt door u zelf.
Maar heerlijk scherp en duidelijk gefotografeerd.

lovely street scene and the title makes us to think about the Gluehwein which warms the mood of the picture.
Nice effect with the black and white rendering. People caught in interesting poses. I like the inscriptions in old stylish font on the shops.

Hello,

In my hometown no market was allowed, so I had to miss the gluhwein this year. In other cities however takeaway foods and drinks were allowed.
